01 - INTRODUCTION
A digital wallet concept designed for students travelling from Pakistan to the UK for education — designed independently, end-to-end, from the first research question to a complete application and landing page.
OVERVIEW
The experience explored how students could begin their account journey before departure and continue setting up their account after arriving in the UK. The product direction evolved from a broader international student audience into a focused experience for students travelling from Pakistan to the UK.
The project covered the experience from early wireframes through prototyping and final UI, including the complete mobile application and responsive landing page.
THE CHALLENGE
The account journey spans two countries, two moments in time, and a checklist of documents and verifications. The design needed to make a complex and unfamiliar process feel clear, guided, and achievable — while creating the product experience from the ground up.
02 - APPROACH
How the work
got done.
01
UNDERSTAND THE OPPORTUNITY
Product and competitor research helped define the opportunity: what students need before departure, what can wait until arrival, and where existing remittance and banking experiences fall short for this journey.
02
DESIGN THE WHOLE JOURNEY
I translated the requirements into user flows, wireframes, and prototypes before moving into the final UI. The mobile application was designed end-to-end, with an onboarding journey designed around the transition from Pakistan to the UK.
03
EXTEND THE EXPERIENCE TO WEB
Alongside the application, I designed the product landing page for desktop and responsive views, creating a consistent introduction to the product across screen sizes.
04
DOCUMENT FOR HANDOVER
I documented the onboarding flows and key product decisions to make the experience easier to understand, review, and carry forward into future product development.
03 - MY ROLE
My contribution
My contribution covered the product design journey end-to-end, from research and wireframing through to prototyping, final UI, and responsive web design.
